African Library Project donors support changing the lives of African youth and the communities that they live in, book by book. Literacy Champions encompass how we define our donors, because their support helps improve the literacy rates in African countries that have some of the lowest literacy rates in the world. The funds that we receive from donors support furthering our mission by strengthening our programs and activities. Programs and activities include covering costs of shipping libraries, providing teacher-librarian training manuals, HIV/AIDS and other resources to libraries, supporting our bi-annual African Partner Summit, and measurement & evaluation activities.
The African Library Project is grateful to all of its donors. Every supporter receives access to benefits at varying degrees. Benefits are applied annually from one Harambee! to the next (typically October to October). In due time, the African Library Project looks forward to extending more benefits to its Literacy Champions. Become a Literacy Champion by donating to the African Library Project, and start seeing the change we are making, one library at a time.
