Friday, March 17 dawned snowy, slippery, and sloppy in Los Alamos but that could not stop the rented U-Haul truck from visiting six schools and three homes in Los Alamos to pick up boxes of books for Malawi schools!

Venkata was inspired by an email from his local library that showed the cost of borrowed books. He then researched how children without access to libraries or the means to afford books read and discovered ALP.

Reach out to the Partner working in your country and contact them directly for an application. We are currently only active in the following countries: Botswana, Malawi, Kenya, Ghana, Lesotho, South Africa, and Uganda. If your country is not listed, please note that we are sorry, but we are unable to support requests in other countries at this time.

If you’re in North America, please visit our Book Drives Webpage to learn how you can join our network of Book Drive Organizers. Registration is updated regularly according to our mailing deadline calendar. If you want us to contact you about a book drive for a later date, complete the registration and select the option for a book drive “at a later date”.
